The map shows the destinations of people who emigrated to New Zealand in the 1840s and 1870s. The circled numbers on the map correspond to the numbers in the table underneath:
Destination | SURNAME, Other Names (b - d) | Year | Married | Children |
1. New Zealand | CRAWFORD, Margaret J (e1827-e1892) | e1848 | yes | 2 |
2. New Zealand | CRAWFORD, John G (e1828-e1888) | e1848 | no | |
3. Christchurch | LITTLE, John Stewart (1851-1940) | 1870s | yes | 14 |
No family records, held by me, indicate where in New Zealand the first two settled.
The "Crawfords of Donegal" refers to "Margaret J Crawford, who married a Mr Harding, a Civil Engineer, and went to New Zealand, where she died, leaving two sons". [see COD p42]
