Commercial Traveller with Singer Sewing Machines. He also had a number of artistic interests; being a member of the Magic Circle, an amateur oil painter and a keen musician. He mainly played the violin and piano, but also collected and played unusual instruments including a Balalaika and an Autoharp. In later life he suffered from rheumatism.
